Our furniture kits come unfinished as standard, it requires sanding and treating before fitting.
At Contour we like to use Osmo Polyx-oil Clear Satin. It gives excellent protection from moisture and doesn’t crack or blister like varnish.
We make all of our furniture square where it meets the walls, this allows it to be fitted to a much wider range of vehicles and ensures you get a perfect bespoke looking fit. To get a good fit you will need to scribe the curve of walls/wheel arches onto parts of the furniture before cutting with a jigsaw.
Due to the huge amount of time we spend designing and setting up production of our units, we are unable to make bespoke units. Some minor changes, such as swapping drawers for cupboards may be possible.
This might be possible as long as it fits. We are happy to discuss making alternative cut-outs for you.
We have tried to make it as simple as possible to assemble and fit, all you need is a drill/driver, jigsaw, sandpaper (or random orbital sander if you have one!) and a paint brush! A set of screwdriver bits including PZ2 and TX20 will also come in handy.
